It is now evident that the ecosystems and human society are changing under the influence of climate change through the losses and damages seen on both sides. All life on earth from the ecosystems to human civilization is vulnerable to a changing climate.

According to the 2022, report by ICCP shows that it is scientifically evident that the current human caused global warming that is increasingly influencing nature and people’s lives everywhere despite of all efforts to adopt the changing climate. This has causes frequent and extreme climatic events such as heatwaves over land and in the ocean, droughts and flooding. Causing widespread and pervasive impact to the ecosystem, people, cities and infrastructure limiting the change of live able future for all.

Here are two questions to ask yourself?

If the climate change cannot be stop, what do you expect for the future? & what the future losses plus the damages?

Today, the global warming has doubled 1.5C, a larger magnitude of  climate change impact. This impact involves widespread distribution of nature and to the society reducing our ability to grow nutritious food or provide clean drinking water.

The poorest communities and countries are strongly hit by climate changes, as they are least able to cope for the growing impacts. Climate change acts as a stress multiplier in these regions/ hotspot areas often have people limited access to clean drinking water, to sanitation, to health facilities and education. The hotspot areas counties include South Asia, Africa, South and Central America, Small Islands and the Arctic.

Didyou know that men and women feel the climate change differently? Yes this is because they differ in roles and responsibilities in the society. Women have always been vulnerable hence be easily harmed by environmental problems both national yang globally than men.

In addition, the next three years are critical without immediate actions of reducing the warming globally.

NOW LETS TALK ABOUT KENYA

As a vulnerable country to climate change, Kenya has no sustainable development since the publication of the National Change Action Plan (NCCAP) of 2018-2022.  This is according to a report from the Climate Action Track report.

The below video posted 11 months ago clearly explaining the causes and impacts of climate change in Kenya.
